Matsushita Electric Industrial Co. Ltd. (MC), which trades on the New York Stock Exchange, has come under fire [no pun intended, really!] due to the fact that the massage chairs that they manufacture under the Panasonic brand could catch fire. Two of the chairs that were used as demos had incidents occur after they were used repeatedly.
The company has recalled over 68,000 of the chairs, and said they don't think the recall would affect earnings. The stock closed up 10 cents per share.
