Yahoo Buys Rivals.com

The first major transaction that Jerry Yang did as head of Yahoo (YHOO) is to buy the college sports website Rivals.com. The purchase price was not disclosed, although Scout.com, a similar site, was bought by News Corp at $60 million a year ago. Rivals.com has about 185,000 subscribers and pay roughly $10 per month for accessing information.
