This might even make a great gift. A solar powered automobile, called the SUNN, that you can make yourself, and the cost is only $4,500. It has a 20 mile range without a recharge and is street legal with seat belts, windshield wipers, and lights.
You can't use it on the freeway though as it only goes up to 25 miles per hour. Energy cost is only $.01 per mile.
