How Green are the SEC Filings

More and more publicly traded companies are addressing climate change in their Securities and Exchange Commission filings, and in their reports to shareholders. Even the SEC itself has come out with climate disclosure guidance.

So how much of this is being reported? The following show the terminology and the number of occurrences in 10K's and 10Qs during the last four years.

Climate Change: 10k: 2200 10Q: 1700 Total: 3900

Greenhouse Gas: 10k: 1900 10Q: 1700 Total: 3600

Global Warming: 10k: 800 10Q: 760 Total: 1560

Carbon Footprint: 10k: 112 10Q: 88 Total: 200
