Yes, you read that heading right. On Tuesday, November 14, 2013, a robot will be ringing the closing bell at NASDAQ (NDAQ). This is to celebrate the launch of a brand new robotics industry ETF. The ETF, ticker symbol ROBO, is predicated on an index licensed from Robo-Stox™ LLC.
This is the first time the NASDAQ bell has been rung by a robot; the first benchmark index providing a comprehensive and focused measure of robotics, automation and related technologies; and the first time individual and institutional investors have a cost-efficient way to capitalize on the momentum of the robotics and automation sector, regardless of geographic limitations.
