About

Welcome to Stockerblog, the stock market blog. So who am I? A very large financial website referred to me as "the semi-anonymous blogger, Stockerblog." Actually, I was called semi-anonymous because even though I don't blatently put my name out there, it is easy to figure out who I am, just by perusing the homepage of this blog. Go ahead and try it, if you don't know who I am already. I bet it takes you less than 30 seconds.

About Me

So more about me. I worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years, starting as a stockbroker, and later as a market maker on the options floor of the Pacific Stock Exchange, and finally as an executive at an investment advisory and financial planning firm. I retired from the financial services industry at a relatively early age with a spotless record, and transitioned into the technology and education field. I also worked as an adjunct professor for the College of Business of a California State University.

Investment Experience

In terms of my personal investment experience, I have invested in everything from commodities to convertible bonds to stock options to limited partnerships to municipal bonds. I've seen bubbles and crashes. I've seen it all.

Real Estate Experience

Occasionally, I write about real estate investing. My investments in real estate have run the gamut: single family residences, multi-family, commercial, condominium, land, tax lien (one of these days, I will write an article about my tax lien purchase), and even gold mining claims (although not technically real estate).

What This Site is About

I created this blog so that others can learn from my mistakes and successes, and to provide information on investment that you may never have thought of. Although I never give investment advice or tax advice (see your investment advisor and accountant), I provide ideas on stocks, bonds, gold, currency, real estate, exotic investments, the stock market in general, gold, start-ups, and money.

  1. I noticed on your website that you stated that the UK is the 6th biggest economy in EUROPE. I'm sure that what you meant to say is that the UK is the 6th biggest economy in the WORLD. The order is something like this (based on GDP, but not on PPP): US, China, Japan, Germany, France, UK. Though the British economy and the French economy regularly swap 5th and 6th positions, and Brazil is also in the mix. It has, however, been predicted that the UK will overtake the German economy, in size, in the next 15 years or so (in large part due to demographics.)
