Values of Tax Deductible Donated Items

OK, now you've made a lot of money investing in the stock market. And you realize that you need some deductions to help offset some of your income. Many people look at donations of old items to charitable organizations for a tax deduction. Starting January 1, 2007, a new law goes into effect stating that all donated items must be in 'good' condition, without really describing what 'good' is. If a donated TV is broken, it's probably not good, but if it works, is should be considered good. In either case, you should discuss this with your tax preparer. (Is a 'good' pair of socks one without holes? If so, I guess we better donate our holey socks before year end.)
