Companies Involved in the Fight Against Terrorism

Russia is taking anti-terrorism very seriously, due to the upcoming 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. President Vladimir Putin has implemented laws that would affect not only potential terrorists but their friends and families. There are also many companies involved in the fight against terrorism.

According to the recently updated list from WallStreetNewsNetwork.com, there are over 20 different anti terrorism stocks which develop products and services in various areas of domestic security. More than half a dozen of the stocks pay a dividend.

One example is L-3 Communications Holdings, Inc. (LLL),  a provider of communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems. The stock has a trailing price to earnings ratio of 11.7 and a forward PE ratio of 12.4. Earlier this year, L-3 raised its dividend payout by 10%, which now provides a fairly generous yield of 2.2%. The company just reported a year-over-year quarterly earnings increase of 6.2% on an 8.7% drop in revenues.

American Science and Engineering, Inc. (ASEI) manufactures and sells X-ray inspection equipment and other detection solutions for the homeland security industry. The stock, trades at 29.8 times trailing earnings and has a forward PE of 30.9. It has one of the highest yields of the companies in this industry at 3.0%. The company reports earnings on November 12.

ManTech International Corporation (MANT) provides national security technologies and solutions, secure information sharing, cyber security,  intelligence operations, and secrecy management. The stock trades at 13 times earnings and 15 times forward earnings. Earnings suffered during the latest quarter, dropping 27.5%, and a revenue reduction of 12%. The company pays a 3% yield.
