One is by going to Salary.com (SLRY), which recently went public and trades on NASDAQ. After skipping past the ads, it will give you a high, a low, and an average income. It will also show the salary with and without benefits.
Another option if you are in the technology field is the InformationWeek.com Salary Advisor, which gives very similar information. InformationWeek is owned by CMP Media which is owned by United Business Media, which trades on the London Stock Exchange under the symbol UBM.L.
