Update on Multilevel Marketing Stocks Including Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway

Did you know that billionaire Warren Buffett, head of Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A), is in the direct selling and multilevel marketing business, also known as network marketing?  Have you heard of the Kirby vacuum cleaners that are sold door-to-door? The Kirby Company is owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway. How about the Pampered Chef? It is a multi level marketing company in the kitchen and food products business that's also owned by Berkshire Hathaway. How about World Book, the encyclopedia company sold through networking and door-to-door? Owned by, you guessed it, Berkshire Hathaway.

So if one of the three richest men in the world is in this business in a few very different areas, maybe it is time to take a close look at the multilevel marketing and direct sales companies to see if there are any investing opportunities. WallStreetNewsNetwork.com has just posted a list of all the network marketing and direct sales stocks. Interestingly, more than half of them pay dividends. The dividends return the investor's capital faster, and can help reduce volatility of the stock.

The multilevel marketing company, Herbalife Ltd. (HLF), a Los Angeles based company which markets weight management, nutritional supplement, and personal care products,  stock trades at a favorable 9.8 times trailing earnings and 6.2 times forward earnings. Remember, the lower the price to earnings ratio, the better.

Tupperware Brands Corporation (TUP) is an Orlando, Florida based company which markets kitchen products, cosmetics and personal care products. The trailing P/E is 14.1, and forward P/E is 12.1. The stock has a high yield of 3.7%.

Avon Products Inc. (AVP) is a New York based company which markets cosmetics, fragrances, skin care, and toiletry products, and other consumer products. It trades at 13.8 times forward earnings, and provides 1.8% yield to investors.

Nu Skin Enterprises Inc. (NUS) is a Provo, Utah based company which markets personal care products and nutritional supplements. The stock has a trailing  P/E of 7.1, a forward P/E of 9.0, and a solid yield of 2.4%.

USANA Health Sciences Inc. (USNA) is a Salt Lake City based company which markets vitamins, minerals, skin products and personal care products. The stock has a trailing P/E of 13.3, and a forward P/E of 11.3.

Mannatech Inc. (MTEX) is a Texas based company which markets nutritional supplements, skin care products, and weight-management products. The stock trades at 16.2 time earnings.

For a free list of multilevel marketing stocks, which includes financial data, go to WallStreetNewsNetwork.com. It you choose the right ones for your investment portfolio, maybe you can become another billionaire like Warren Buffett.

Bargains in Multilevel Marketing Stocks

The multilevel marketing company, Herbalife Ltd. (HLF), a Los Angeles based company which markets weight management, nutritional supplement, and personal care products, tanked 11% today, Monday, at the close of the market, and down another 2% in after-market trading. This has caused other MLM stocks to sink, creating some potential bargains. WallStreetNewsNetwork.com has turned up a list of over a dozen multilevel marketing stocks, Multilevel marketing companies, or direct selling companies, which are also known as network marketing companies, operate by recruiting salespeople to sell their products. The salespeople receive commissions from their own sales and a portion of the sales of people recruited in their downline.

Tupperware Brands Corporation (TUP) was down slightly. It is an Orlando, Florida based company which markets kitchen products, cosmetics and personal care products. The trailing P/E is 16, and forward P/E is 13. The stock sports a yield of 3.3%.

Healthy Stocks

As technology continues to change our world, one place this is most obvious is in health and science. Researchers have found ways to extend the average lifespan of people and provide insight on how to be more healthy and live longer lives. With this information, people have changed their eating habits, begun working out more, and have become more interested in health. That said, there is a booming opportunity for those looking to invest in the health food arena and earn a financial gain.

Opportunities to invest in healthy food options include non-GMO choices, vegetarian foods, the supplement industry, and much more. Companies like United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI), Dole Food Company (DOLE), Boulder Brands Inc. (BDBD), and more all create healthy food products and make up for a large part of profitable food producers. Another investment option involves nutritional supplement stores including GNC (GNC), Herbalife (HLF), and Vitamin Shoppe (VSI). And grocery chains such as Whole Foods Market (WFM), The Fresh Market (TFM), and Natural Grocers by Vitamin Cottage (NGVC) also offer investment opportunities to those looking to take off with the booming industry of health food. Just a few decades ago, people began investing in drive-thru restaurants like McDonalds (MCD), Burger King, Taco Bell and other fast food places. All of these financial opportunities massively expanded due to the trend in fast food. However now there is a shift back towards being healthy and having an active lifestyle. As that pattern continues, so will the trend of shopping for and eating healthy food. Investors have the opportunity to take advantage of these markets, much like those who took advantage of fast food chains just a short time ago.

According to the free list at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com of health food stocks, there are over a dozen worth different companies in this field. Whole Foods Market (WFM) is one of the major players in this industry. It based in Austin, Texas, and owns a chain of supermarkets specializing in natural and organic products. The stock trades at 37 times trailing earnings and 31 times forward earnings. The earnings for the latest reported quarter were up an amazing 21% on a 12% boost in revenues. The company has $989 billion in cash, amounting to $2.66 in cash per share. Whole Foods pays a small dividend with a yield of 0.8%.

Hain Celestial Group (HAIN) is a provider of natural and organic foods and personal care products. The company brands include Celestial Seasonings tea, Soy Dream and Almond Dream beverages, the FreeBird brand of organic free range chickens, and whole grain foods through Arrowhead Mills. The stock has a trailing price to earnings ratio of 30 and forward PE of 25. Earnings for the latest quarter were up an incredible 69% on an excellent 21% boost in sales. The company has $27 million in cash. It does not pay a dividend.

There are plenty of other health food stocks worth examining for your portfolio health. To see all the primary companies involved in the health food industry, check out the list of health food stocks at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com.

Consider investing in the health food industry for your next financial decision. Not only is this an industry that people are actively interested in, but it is one that will only continue to grow as people become more aware of the importance of eating and living a more healthy lifestyle.

Time to Look at Your New Years Resolutions

New Years Resolutions in summer? What better time to look at your resolutions than half way through the year. Have you followed through with any of yours? For me, I haven't done much in the way of my exercise resolution. I guess I better get on it, since I have less than six months left.

At the beginning of January, I did an article on New Years Resolutions stocks, which included weight loss companies, exercise clothing companies, and get-a-job companies. WallStreetNewsNetwork.com has just updated the list of top New Years resolution companies, some of which may make your portfolio healthier. Here is a quick review.

Weight Watcher's International Inc. (WTW) is trading at loss than the price it was at for the beginning of the year, primarily due to the big dump in the stock price in late February. It was founded in 1963, and is one of the oldest weight loss companies. The stock has a forward PE of 10.4, and pays a fairly generous yield, at least compared to other New Years stocks, of 2.6%.

However, Herbalife Ltd. (HLF) has done quite well, rising from 40.95 at the beginning of January to over 48 today, and increase of about 20%. The company, which also provides nutritional supplement and personal care products, has a forward PE of 11.2, with a yield of 1.6%.

Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU) is another resolution stock that has performed fairly well, going from 30.91 to almost 38 today. It is a Vancouver, Canada based company that produces and markets fitness related apparel for yoga, running, dancing, and other exercise related activities. The stock has a forward PE of 26.5.

New Years Resolutions Stocks

Now that we are in a new year and a new decade, Americans are making their New Years resolutions, everything from losing weight to getting a new job to exercising more. Fortunately, there are many publicly traded companies that are available to fill these needs.

For example Weight Watcher's International Inc. (WTW), founded in 1963, is one of the oldest weight loss companies. The stock has a forward PE of 10.4, and pays a fairly generous yield, at least compared to other New Years stocks, of 2.4%. The company just declared another dividend of 17.5 cents per share, and went ex dividend on December 31, with a payable date of January 15.

Another company that has a lot of weight loss customers around the world is Herbalife Ltd. (HLF). The company, which also provides nutritional supplement and personal care products, has a forward PE of 11, with a yield of 2%.

For those that want to exercise more this year, you first need to have the right clothing. Lululemon Athletica Inc. (LULU) is a Vancouver, Canada based company that produces and markets fitness related apparel for yoga, running, dancing, and other exercise related activities. The stock has a forward PE of 32.4, which is a bit on the high side compared to its competitors.

Once you have the clothes, you can join the health club. Life Time Fitness Inc. (LTM) operates sports, athletic, and fitness centers. The stock has a forward PE of 12.7.

Once you have your weight and health under control, maybe you want to look for a new and better job. Robert Half International Inc. (RHI) is the Menlo Park, California based provider of temporary and permanent staffing around the world. The stock has a very high PE of 65.2, but does pay a yield of 1.8%.

Last but not least, if you are single, maybe now is the time to start looking for a mate. IAC/InterActiveCorp. (IACI) owns two of the largest online dating services, Match.com and Chemistry.com. The stock has a forward PE of 28.9.
