Seven Top Stocks Under $7 per Share All Paying Dividends

Do you like low priced stocks? I like low priced stocks. Some studies say that the returns on low priced stocks outperform higher priced stocks, and some studies say that there is no difference in returns and you have the same chance of a percentage return on a low price as a high priced stock. That being said, there is still a psychological benefit to buying a low priced stock as it seems like a better deal.

Often low priced stocks are indicative of lower quality companies. But there are alway gems in the junk. Here are several examples, all of which pay dividends.

Computer Task Group Inc. (CTG), in the business of IT solutions and staffing services company, sells for a little over $5 a share. The stock trades at 13 times trailing earnings and 15 times forward earnings. It pays a generous yield of 4.7%.

Digirad Corporation (DRAD) provides diagnostic solutions, and it also sells for around $5 a share. The stock has a price to earnings ratio of 5 and a forward P/E of 15. It also pays a healthy yield amounting to 4.1%.

The investment management company Fortress Investment Group LLC (FIG), trades for around $4.60 per share, with a trailing P/E of 15 and a forward P/E of 5. The stock sports a very high yield of 6.7%.

The Hong Kong based company, Highway Holdings Limited (HIHO), has a great stock ticker symbol. It markets metal, plastic, electric, and electronic components. Trading for this stock, which is at $4.50, is very light. The stock trades at 15 times earnings and yields an extremely high 8.8%.

GlobalSCAPE, Inc. (GSB) is a provider of software applications and cloud solutions, with a trailing P/E of 18 and a forward P/E of 13. The yield is a moderate yield of 1.6%. The stock currently trades at $3.88 per share.

LRAD Corporation (LRAD) markets directed sound technologies and products. The stock trades at 6 times earnings and pays a yield of 2.3%. The stock sells for less than $2 per share.

Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. (MGIC) is an Israeli company that provides application development and software solutions, and sells for about $6.50 per share. The stock trades at 18 times trailing earnings and 8 times forward earnings. It pays a decent yield of 2.7%.

Hopefully, many of these low priced stocks will become high priced stocks. If you like interesting stocks lists like this, check out many of the free lists at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com.

Top 9 Stocks Under $10 per Share

Investors seem to love low priced stocks, due to the fact that perceived potential gains from price movements appear to be higher than high priced stocks. After all, a ten cent rise on a one dollar stock is 10%, ten cent gain on a $10 stock is only 1%, and an increase of 10 cents on a hundred dollar stock is only one tenth of a percent.

The fact is that high priced stocks can move just as much on a percentage basis as low priced stocks. Yet investors still want the low prices.

When looking for quality low priced stocks to buy, investors generally look for several factors from a fundamental standpoint. They are:

1. The stock sells for less than $10 per share.
2. The stock has a price to earnings ratio under 20.
3. The stock has a forward P/E ratio less than 20.
4. The stock has a price to earnings growth ratio under 2.
5. The stock has no debt or low debt to equity.
6. And to top it off, the stock pays a dividend.

The following nine stocks have all these features, and deserve a closer look.

Company Ticker Market Cap P/E Price Yield
Crown Crafts, Inc. CRWS     84.90M 14.39 8.49 3.80%
Digirad Corporation DRAD  104.87M 4.91 5.40 3.40%
Evolving Systems Inc. EVOL    63.13M 16.88 5.40 8.10%
Heritage Oaks Bancorp HEOP  291.72M 18.06 8.49 2.90%
Leju Holdings Limited LEJU  781.03M 14.50 5.80 13.30%
Magic Software Enterprises Ltd. MGIC  256.79M 16.23 5.68 3.30%
MiX Telematics Limited MIXT  168.00M 11.98 5.03 3.70%
Pzena Investment Management PZN  638.03M 18.96 9.67 1.30%
Supreme Industries Inc. STS  129.91M 12.53 7.77 1.50%

What is interesting is that all these little gems have yields in excess of 1.25%. Keep in mind that the market cap on these companies is low. If you like interesting stock lists like this, check out many of the free stock lists at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com.

3 Stocks Under $10 That Could Spike

Many stock traders, and investors also, prefer low priced stocks. Although the price of a stock really shouldn't make much difference, from a psychological standpoint, the stocks selling for under $10 a share seem like a better buy, and it also seems like potential for greater potential gains may be greater than higher priced stocks.

If you check out some of the stocks under $10 with gains recently, you would see that Great Basin Scientific, Inc. (GBSN), which closed at 2.73 on Friday, jumped by over 40% in one day! China Information Technology, Inc. (CNIT), which closed at 4.62, rose by 22%, and Euro Tech Holdings Company Limited (CLWT), which ended the day at 3.52, went up by 30% in one day.

Obviously, you can't catch every one day spikes like these, but if you choose stocks with strong earning per share growth potential over the next five years  and high sales growth, you should be able to catch one of these big movers at some point.

One stock that fits these credentials is Good Times Restaurants Inc. (GTIM), the Golden, Colorado based operator and franchiser of hamburger style drive-through restaurants. The stock closed at 7.43 a share last week. Revenues for the latest quarter soared 32.9% year-over-year. The company has only $712,000 in debt, with $11.5 million in cash, having $1.22 in cash per share.

Ariad Pharmaceuticals Inc. (ARIA) is a $1.5 billion market cap company trading for less than 8.40 per share. This Cambridge, Massachusetts company specializes in cancer treatments. Year-over-year revenues went up by 700%. Even on a quarter-by-quarter basis, revenues increased by 355% over the previous quarter, and the company's net loss dropped dramatically.

Here is one more. Health Insurance Innovations, Inc. (HIIQ) is a $66 million market cap company in the business of cloud based individual health insurance plans, and is based in Tampa, Florida. The stock closed at 8.51 per share. Quarterly revenue growth year-over-year was 67.7%. On a quarter by quarter basis, revenues have been growing steadily over the last year with an increase of 13.5% for the latest quarter. Also for the latest quarter, earnings went from a loss of $674 thousand to net income of $74 thousand. What I like about this company is that it is debt free, with $14.72 million in cash, or a $1.89 in cash per share.

Hopefully one of these low priced stocks will turn into a high priced stock for your portfolio. For other interesting stock lists like this, go to the free stock lists at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com.

Two High Yield Stocks Under $5 a Share

Everybody likes a deal. And many investors think that low priced stocks are bargains. They can be but not always. When looking at low price stocks, there are several factors you want to look for. Here is the list:

1. Generating earnings
2. Decent earnings growth
3. Low or no debt
4. Preferably paying dividends
5.  Preferably dividends paid at least quarterly

Here are two companies fitting both of those categories.

National American University Holding (NAUH), which is currently trading for less than $3 a share, owns and operates National American University. Many of these education companies have been hit hard over the last few years and NAUH is one of them. Maybe it's time for a rebound.

The stock trades at 12 times trailing earnings and 13 times forward earnings. The price earnings to growth ratio is a very favorable 0.84. Plus the stock trades at an excellent 0.58 times sales. The company pays a very healthy yield of 5.9%, and the payouts are made quarterly.

Nevsun Resources (NSU) is in the business of exploring for and developing gold, silver, copper, and zinc mineral properties. The stock, which is less than $4 a share, has a trailing price to earnings ratio of 11 and a forward PE of 8.

The PEG ratio is an outstanding 0.27 and the price sales ratio is a reasonable 1.83. The dividend is paid quarterly and the stock yields 3.7%.

With financials in place like this, there is very little downside and plenty of upside. If you like lists like this, check out the stock lists at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com.

4 High Yield Stocks Selling Below 10 per Share

Many investors love low price stocks. They believe that the percentage gain potential on these stocks is much greater. In a way, it's true. The potential gain of a stock going from $50 a share to $100 a share is 100%. The potential gain of a stock going from $10 to $100 is 900%. In any case, there are thousands of low price stocks to choose from, and many of them pay dividends. This is a good thing, as the dividends can help reduce volatility and returns your capital faster.

Valley National Bank (VLY) which is a New Jersey based company that trades on the New York Stock Exchange at 9.67 a share, pays dividends quarterly and yields 4.4%. Trailing PE is 14.4 and the forward PE is 15.1.

If you ask the average investor if they prefer a low price stock over a high price stock, all things being equal, most prefer the lower price stock. Investors think it is just as easy for a low price stock to rise one point as it is for a high price stock, even though in actuality it isn't true.
