Another Vietnam Stock: A Way to Invest in VN Domain Names

About a week ago, I wrote an article about the various ways to invest in Vietnam stocks and closed end funds. I just came across another company that is the domain registrar for the Vietnam [.VN] country domain. The company is called Dot VN, Inc. (DTVI.PK), and trades on the Pink Sheets. This San Diego company, which also has offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has a deal with the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center to register and sell the Vietnam country code Top Level Domain, and works with numerous domain resellers, such as VeriSign Inc. (VRSN) and Melbourne IT Ltd. (MLBEF.PK). The company has been around since 2001.

Dot VN just appointed Mike Weller as Chief Information Officer. He was formerly the Senior Vice President of Technology for Citigroup. The company reported negative earnings for the latest reported quarter. The stock has a price sales ratio of 51. The stock has a very low market cap and should therefore be considered very speculative.

Author does not own any of the above. This is not a recommendation, either expressed or implied.
