9/11 Attack Caused Miscarriages of Male Babies

According to a report by the BMC Public Health, the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks induced stress which caused a significant 12% increase in the miscarriage of male fetuses, during the month of September 2001. In addition, fewer boys were born in all of the states during the period of three to four months after the attack. Reportedly, "communal bereavement" affects pregnant women and unborn baby boys more than others. The research was done at the University of California, Irvine.
