Stocks Going Ex Dividend the Third Week of December

Here is our latest update on the stock trading technique called ‘Buying Dividends,’ also commonly referred to as ‘Dividend Capture.’ This is the process of buying stocks before the ex dividend date and selling the stock shortly after the ex date at about the same price, yet still being entitled to the dividend. This technique generally works only in bull markets, and can work in flat or choppy markets, but you need to avoid the technique during bear markets.
In order to be entitled to the dividend, you have to buy the stock before the ex-dividend date, and you can’t sell the stock until after the ex date. The actual dividend may not be paid for another few weeks.
WallStreetNewsNetwork.com has compiled a downloadable and sortable list of the stocks going ex dividend in the near future. The list contains many dividend paying companies, lots with market caps over $500 million, and yields over 2%. Here are a few examples showing the stock symbol, the ex-dividend date, the dividend amount, and yield.

3 Top Debt Free Stocks with Lots of Cash and Paying Dividends

Up until recently, one of the popular features of Apple (AAPL) was the fact that the company had no debt and a huge amount of cash. And over the last five years, the stock has appreciated from around $80 a share to over $500 a share. I've always been a big fan of debt free stocks, and when I find one with lots of cash, that's just icing on the cake. If it also pays a dividend, that's an added bonus.

Do You want to Position Your Portfolio with this Stock?

Fortunately, there are several companies that fall into the category of high cash, debt free, and dividend paying. Garmin (GRMN) may be getting a boost to sales this quarter from gift buying for the holidays. I could use a Garmin GPS as a gift (I can't believe I still don't have a GPS). This company has no debt and has $1.2 billion in the bank, amounting to $6.16 per share in cash. The company recently reported earnings and although sales were down slightly, quarterly earnings spiked 33.7% year over year. On top of that, the company provides its shareholders with a fairly generous dividend yield of 3.8%. The stock trades at 19 times forward earnings. The company's growth is coming from the marine and aviation market. In addition, it is expanding into the fitness arena.

The Stock that Brings Water to Crops

Another high cash company is Lindsay Corporation (LNN) which is a maker and marketer of agricultural irrigation systems. This debt free company has over $151 million in cash, which works out to $11.80 in cash per share. Earnings for the quarter ending August 31 were up 19.1% on a 16.1% rise in revenues. The stock has a forward price to earnings ratio of 15 and yields 0.7%. The company boosted its dividend payout by 13% back in August.

The Stock that Gets It There

Expeditors International of Washington (EXPT) is also debt free and has $1.41 billion in cash. This company, which is involved in air and ocean freight logistics services, trades at 22 times forward earnings, with earnings growth for the latest quarter of 4.4% on a slight increase in revenues. Current yield is 1.4%, with its semi-annual payout being increased by 7% in May earlier this year. Cash per share amounts to $6.86.

More High Cash, No Debt, Dividend Paying Stocks

If you like these kinds of stocks with high cash, no debt, and paying dividends, you can get a free list at WallStreetNewsNetwork.com. The list shows the market cap, the forward PE, the cash per share, the yield, and the cash per share versus the price, and more. And if you like this article, please share.

Perfect Stocks: High Cash No Debt High Yield Stocks

What would make a perfect stock? One feature that I look for is a stock that is debt free. It is difficult for a company to go out of business when it has no debt. Then I also prefer stocks that pay dividends. Dividends provide stability to the stocks and accelerate the return of capital. The other criteria I like to see is lots of cash. The more cash per share a company has compared to its stock price, the better. Cash is a great cushion during downturns.

WallStreetNewsNetwork.com just updated its free list of High Cash No Debt High Yield Stocks, and includes more than 20 companies, showing the stock symbol, market cap, forward price-to-earnings ratio, cash per share, yield, and cash per share as a percentage of stock price.

An example is Cato Corp. (CATO), which is a North Carolina based specialty retailer of fashion apparel and accessories in the southeastern US. This debt free company has $9 in cash per share representing about 36% of the recent price per share. On top of that, the current yield is 3.8% after the company increased the dividend rate by 16.5%. Earnings for the latest quarter were up 13% on a slight increase in revenues.

Garmin Ltd. (GRMN) is a $5.85 billion market cap debt free company that makes global positioning systems, also known as GPS products. The stock sports a 5% yield after doubling its payout rate over last year. It trades at 15.4 times forward earnings. It has a decent cushion of $7.63 in cash per share.

Superior Industries International, Inc. (SUP), a manufacturer of aluminum road wheels, pays a yield of 4% and carries a forward price to earnings ratio of 10.8. The stock has a substantial $5.51 in cash per share and has no debt.

Weis Markets (WMK), a retail supermarket chain, which is another debt free company, has $5.17 in cash per share, a PE ratio of 15, and a yield of 3.1%.

A Great Combo: Debt Free, High Cash, High Yield

When investors look for stocks, they often run screeners, which extract stocks that meet certain criteria. Conservative investors always look for high yields; but beyond that, there are screens that narrow the list to more quality companies. This additional criteria can include low or no debt and a high cash position. WallStreetNewsNetwork.com just updated its free list of High Cash No Debt High Yield Stocks, and includes over 20 companies, showing the stock symbol, market cap, forward price-to-earnings ratio, cash per share, yield, and cash per share as a percentage of price.

Superior Industries International, Inc. (SUP), a manufacturer of aluminum road wheels, pays a yield of 3.1% and carries a forward PE of 13. The stock has an amazing $5.09 in cash per share and has no debt.

Weis Markets (WMK), a retail supermarket chain, which is a $1.06 billion market cap company, has $5.03 in cash per share, a PE of 15, and a yield of 3.0%.

High Cash No Debt High Yield Stocks

Anyone who has read many of my articles know that I am a big fan of stocks that don't have any debt. I am also a fan of stocks that pay high dividends. When you look at these two criteria and add a third, lots of cash, you come up with an interesting list of stocks. WallStreetNewsNetwork.com just updated its list of High Cash No Debt High Yield Stocks, and includes 25 companies, showing the stock symbol, market cap, forward price-to-earnings ratio, cash per share, yield, and cash per share as a percentage of price.

The company recently reported earnings and announced a 60% increase in quarterly revenues and an incredible 1,064.8% increase in earnings year over year.

Garmin Ltd. (GRMN) is another company that fits this criteria. This is the $7.5 billion market cap debt free company that makes global positioning system, or GPS products. The stock sports a 3.8% yield and forward PE ratio of 13.7. It has a nice cushion of $5.55 in cash per share. The company reports earnings tomorrow, May 5.

High Cash + No Debt + High Yield = Bargains

The cable and telecom company, Charter Communications Inc. (CHTR), just filed for bankruptcy, primarily due to their huge debt load. When you hear these stories, you realize how important it is to find stocks that are debt free if you are looking for more safer and secure companies to invest in. In addition, if the stock has a lot of cash, that adds to the level of safety. And if you can find stocks that meet both of these criteria, and the stock also pays a dividend, then maybe it is a stock worth buying.

WallStreetNewsNetwork.com recently uploaded its downloadable Excel database called High Cash No Debt High Yield Stock List. It lists over 30 companies that have a lot of cash, are debt free, and pay decent yields. Over a dozen have yields in excess of 4%. Here are a few examples, all of which have market caps over $1 billion and have no debt.

Maxim Integrated Products (MXIM) has almost $1 billion in cash, amounting to $3.04 in cash per share. They have a forward PE of 37 and pay a yield of 6.6%.

Lorillard (LO) which has $1.19 billion in cash, giving them $7.09 in cash per share. They have a forward PE of 10 and pay a yield of 6.3%.

Gentex Cp (GNTX) has $323 million in cash, amounting to $2.35 in cash per share. They have a forward PE of 18 and pay a yield of 5.5%.

Intersil Corp (ISIL) with $312 million in cash, giving them $2.56 in cash per share. They have a forward PE of 22 and pay a yield of 4.7%.

Garmin Ltd (GRMN) has $709 million in cash, amounting to $3.54 in cash per share. They have a forward PE of 7 and pay a yield of 4.4%.
