Stem Cell Bonds Issued by California


For the first time, the state of California has issued municipal bonds of which the proceeds will be used to fund human embryonic stem-cell research. The bonds are paying a yield of approximately 5.16%, are exempt from California state income taxes and are anticipated to be exempt from Federal taxes.
