The following graph shows the returns for Gisele and the Dow for the last seven years:

Actress & Supermodel Stock Indexes Outperform the Dow Jones Industrial Average

Since 2007, I have been tracking the stocks connected to celebrities and put them in the form of celebrity stock indexes. (Is the plural of index indexes or indices? Actually, both are correct.) The connection can be anything from being the celebrity endorser for a company's products to starring in a film of a movie studio company. I recently updated the indexes for several actresses and supermodels, and the returns have been outstanding, compared to the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

Last week, I wrote about how the Gisele Bündchen Stock Index was up 93% since 2007, compared to the Dow which was up 27%. Gisele is the famous and wealthy fashion model and actress, who is also a celebrity endorser of many products.

One of the other entertainers with an index is Victoria Beckham, also known as Posh Spice. Her index was up 53% over the last seven years. A couple of her stocks include Iconix Brand Group (ICON), which owns Rocawear, the urban clothing label for which she provided a celebrity endorsement, and V.F. Corporation (VFC), which owns Rock and Republic Enterprises, Inc., which has a range of jeans and other clothing created by Victoria Beckham.

Angelina Jolie, who is considered to be the the country's highest paid actress, also has a significant return on her index, up 40.5%. Her stocks include LVMH Moët Hennessy (LVMUY), for which she was the face of Louis Vuitton in 2011, a campaign that reportedly earned her approximately $10 million. Other stocks in the index include the studios that distributed films she starred, such as Time Warner (TWX) and Comcast (CMCSA).

The supermodel Heidi Klum has an index that rose 90.5%. She has been the spokesperson for McDonalds (MCD), Target (TGT), and Nike (NKE).

Nicole Kidman, who's index was up 53.9%, has starred in numerous films, and the motion picture distributors include Time Warner's (TWX) Warner Brother's which distributed Margot at the Wedding, The Invasion, Happy Feet, in which she did a voiceover, Eyes Wide Shut, Fur, plus the New Line Cinema division's The Golden Compass. Another Nicole stock is Disney (DIS). Its division, Miramax, distributed Cold Mountain, The Human Stain, and The Hours, all of which she starred in.

If you read the weekend edition of The Wall Street Journal, you would have noticed the front page article about famous Desperate Housewives actress, Eva Longoria, and her political activism. She was co-chair of President Obama's re-election campaign and was on stage with the president during the inauguration.

She has had a very successful career, winning several awards for her television roles in Housewives and The Young and the Restless. In addition, she is a successful businesswoman, working as celebrity spokesperson for several products, and even came out with her own perfume, Eva by Eva Longoria.

Because of her fame, her product endorsements and connections to businesses can have an effect on company revenues. If you look at the share prices of the companies Longoria is connected to and built into an index, you would find that since July of 2007, the Eva Index is up 21.7% versus the Dow Jones Industrial Average which was up only 4.3%. Justin Bieber Stock Index Outperforms the Dow Jones Industrial Average

Justin Bieber is the extremely popular young Canadian singer who recently appeared as a lead performer on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on CBS (CBS). Since he was discovered on YouTube just a few years ago (where he appears in one of the most viewed videos in history), over 12 million of his albums have been sold. He also has more Twitter followers than any other person except for Lady Gaga.

One interesting aspect of famous and very popular celebrities, is that they can have an effect on the sales of the companies that they are connected with, such as television networks, record label, motion picture production companies, and companies with celebrity endorsements. If you take the prices of the stocks of those companies, an index can be defined which can be compared against a major stock index, such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

The stocks that Justin Bieber is connected with, when put into an index, is up 3.1% for the last six months, versus the Dow Jones Industrial Average, which is down 0.4%. Here are Bieber's stock connections:

Justin Bieber's record label is Island Records, a division of Universal Music Group, which is a subsidiary of Vivendi (VIVHY).

With Disney (DIS), he has a lot of connections. A Dancing with the Stars performer on ABC, a Disney Parks Christmas Day Parade performer, a So Random! performer, and an Extreme Makeover: Home Edition guest appearance, all Disney shows.

Viacom (VIA) is another big connection; he was in the School Gyrls film cast and True Jackson, VP both on Nickelodeon. Also, Justin Bieber: Never Say Never film, a Punk'd punker and a Silent Library game show contestant, both on MTV, a subsidiary of Viacom.

In addition to appearing on the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on CBS (CBS), he was also on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, another CBS show.

Of course, we can't forget the One Less Lonely Girl nail polish with the Justin Bieber endorsement sold exclusively at Wal-Mart (WMT).
